Blogger? I Know, Right!!

I know, I know… A BLOG??? I asked myself the same thing! Who is gonna read it? Will I make an impact? Will I even connect to anyone? I would be lying if I said I wasn’t at least a little bit scared to start this blog, but, here I am! I have had the desire to start one since I was in college. Back then, blogging wasn’t as sophisticated as it is now.  It was more of a way to journal your thoughts in a safe, controlled space  – since I had been journaling and writing poetry since I was a teen I thought, why not??

All right, fast forward 15 plus years…so why start one now? Why 2018? And why name it This Exceptional Journey? I am glad you asked!

Many who know me will tell you I am a pretty private person. I am outgoing but love alone time just the same, an introverted extrovert if you will. But I had to ask myself…if my hearts desire is to help others succeed in life and to overcome life’s everyday hurdles and still stand strong, how can I do that silently? How will people know they are more than conquers if I don’t share my journey and what it took to get here? I felt it was time to have honest dialogue, to open myself to others and to “spread my wings” and fly!  Now does that mean I will be free as a bird and spill all my tea?? We shall see! I figure if I put tons of effort and time into it, this could be a unique and wonderful experience. Hence This Exceptional Journey…

Now, I know God allows all of us to face what we do for a reason, my life is no different. I have had some great moments and some absolutely horrible ones as well. I have had some of my best and probably worst experiences all within my lowly 38 years of life. I say that to point out I am no expert, just experienced. You know the saying “Been there, done that, got a T-shirt!” My experiences thus far have garnished that phrase more than once honey! So here I am…bearing it all in hopes to help someone else and even myself in the process.
